It is almost certain that the iPad will soon follow. Amazon's Kindle Store owns 90% of ebook sales, and combined, these two companies dominate the market.

Although iPad owners will have the option of reading books on their shiny new gadget, they won't spend much time reading books. Perhaps they will read the newspaper or magazines and comic books, but as for actual books, they won't probably bother. The reason for this would be that the iPad is a multi-function gadget that is marketed to a new type of consumer who spends his time doing other tasks. Conclusion: they won't be purchasing lots of books from the iBookstore.

With this being predicted, Amazon will still hold tight to the ebook market at 80%-90% of the sales.
